fights red and black algae in seawater aquariums
Several factors can be responsible for the formation of red and black algae in your aquarium. These colored bacteria will reproduce endlessly in water if having an excessive nitrate or phosphate concentration, insufficient movement, an excessive amount of ground material, or changed or inadequate illumination. They will also appear if your tap water contains spores or when the water is too pure. The algae will reproduce as easily in ”clinically pure” seawater as they will in strongly contaminated water. PREIS-Algan helps you bring the algae situation in your aquarium under control. Following the treatment with PREIS-Algan, you should seek to fight the causes of bacterial growth. If the water is strongly contaminated, it is recommended that you change the water using PREIS-Sea Salt. Make sure there is sufficient current in the aquarium. Should the aquarium water not contain any traces of nitrate or phosphate, turn off the protein scummer for a period of appr. two weeks and refrain from rinsing out the rapid filters. A strain of bacteria will form during this period and fight red smear algae.
At the same time, we recommend the addition of Baktoplan Marin.
PREIS-Algan is harmless to invertebrates and more highly developed marine algae.
